Prof. Zahrul Fuadi received the B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Mechanical Department, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia, in 1996, and the M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UniversitiSains Malaysia in 2004. In 2005, he was granted a scholarship from MEXT for a doctoral program at the Tribology Laboratory, Tohoku University, and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009. After graduating, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute of Fluid Science and the Nanointerface Engineering Laboratory, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan.
His research interests include vibration mechanics related to friction, tribological and lubrication properties of renewable lubricants, composites, and renewable energy.
In March 2026, Prof. Fuadi will be invited to NITech for collaboration on Friction induced vibration, hosted by Prof. Maegawa.
