Dr. Li XI earned his B.Eng. degree from Zhejiang University (China) and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (U.S.A.). Following postdoctoral training at MIT (U.S.A.), he joined McMaster University (Canada), where he currently serves as an associate professor of chemical engineering. Dr. XI leads a multidisciplinary research team focusing on fluid flows, polymer materials, and digital and sustainable manufacturing.

Dr. XI is invited to NITech for joint research on the dynamics of turbulent flows hosted by Prof. Shinji Tamano in February 2024.

He will deliver a lecture titled “Unpacking the turbulent dynamics in viscoelastic fluid flows: multistage transitions in polymer drag reduction” at NITech.
