Dr. Gowsihan POOLOGASUNDARAMPILLAI is a Reader in Biomaterials Science at King’s College London (Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences) and an Honorary Associate Professor in Biomaterials and Biomanufacturing at the University of Birmingham. A uniquely versatile deep-tech innovator, his career spans the full pipeline of academic discovery, advanced manufacturing, and commercial translation.
His research focuses on the design of advanced materials, pioneering manufacturing processes, and cutting-edge imaging technologies. Specifically, his group leads the development of novel molecules, organic-inorganic hybrids, and 1D, 2D, and 3D bioactive scaffolds. Demonstrating remarkable scientific adaptability, his fundamental research has successfully pivoted across highly diverse applications—ranging from the fabrication of artificial blood vessel mimics to the engineering of advanced materials for neutron capture.
In September 2026, Dr. POOLOGASUNDARAMPILLAI will be invited to NITech by Prof. Obata for collaboration in research of Biomaterials, hydrogels, electrospinning, 3D printing and bio-imaging.
