Prof. Giraud is a Full Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of Lille, France. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Lille in 2002 and was graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, France in 1997. He was “Visiting Professor” at University of Toronto in 2012. His field of research deals with the control and design of piezoelectric actuators, with a focus on tactile displays. He is co-author of more than 100 publications in this field, filled 5 patents and published 1 book. He is the Project Coordinator of the European ITN Marie-Curie project « multitouch » and was associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Haptics from 2015 to 2019.

In March 2024, Prof. Giraud was invited to NITech for Joint Research on Surface Haptics, hosted  by Prof. Yoshihiro Tanaka.
