Dr. Dominique CAHARD is a CNRS Director of Research working at Normandy University, France. His career started in 1994 with a PhD from the University of Rouen. He enjoyed two postdoctoral positions with Prof. Chris McGUIGAN in Southampton (UK) and then in Cardiff (Wales), and with Prof. Tadashi NAKATA at RIKEN, Tokyo (Japan). In 1996, he joined the CNRS as an associate researcher, completed his Habilitation in 2001, and was promoted to Director of Research in 2007. He has published more than 160 papers, patents, books and book chapters and gave 100 invited lectures worldwide. His current research interests concern innovative methodologies for the synthesis of fluorinated molecules.
In May/June 2024, Dr CAHARD was invited to NITech for Joint Research on organofluorine chemistry of emerging SF4R and SF5 motifs, hosted by Prof. Norio SHIBATA
