Dr. César F. Caiafa is an Independent Researcher at CONICET and Adjunct Professor at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializing in machine learning and signal processing for applications in engineering, astronomy, and neuroscience. He obtained a PhD in Engineering from the Engineering Faculty of the University of Buenos Aires in 2007, where he developed mathematical models and algorithms for image processing. His research focuses on tensor decompositions, tensor networks, sparse representations, compressed sensing, and independent component analysis, with strong international collaborations including long-term engagements at RIKEN (Japan) and Indiana University (USA). He has contributed extensively to scientific publications in high-impact journals and conferences. In January 2026, Dr. Caiafa will be invited to NITech for collaboration on tensor decomposition hosted by Prof. Yokota.

– Title of given lecture in NITech: “Solving Inverse Problems: From Classical Regularization through Tensor Decomposition to Deep Learning”.
